FREE BEER

FREE BEER is a beer which is free in the sense of freedom, not in the sense of free beer.

The project, originally conceived by Copenhagen-based artist collective Superflex and students at the Copenhagen IT University, applies modern free software / open source methods to a traditional real-world product - namely the alcoholic beverage loved and enjoyed globally, and commonly known as beer.
FREE BEER is based on classic ale brewing traditions, but with addded Guaraná for a natural energy boost. The recipe and branding elements of FREE BEER is published under a Creative Commons (Attribution-ShareAlike 2.5) license, which means that anyone can use the recipe to brew their own FREE BEER or create a derivative of the recipe. Anyone is free to earn money from FREE BEER, but they must publish the recipe under the same license and credit our work. All design and branding elements are available to beer brewers, and can be modified to suit, provided changes are published under the same license (”Attribution & Share Alike”)

EAT, MEET

EAT, MEET is a series of vegetarian dinner parties, featuring short talks by special guests. Some efforts are made to create atypical social configurations. Previous special guests have included Lenine Bourke, Jorden Tannahill, Cara Eastcott, Park Bench and Bono. The parties are relatively spontaneous, badly advertised and feature hastily prepared food by Darren O'Donnell. There will be about four over the course of the summer. If you'd like to be invited please send an email to "hello at mammalian.ca" with the subject heading "I eat for free" and if another one happens, you might be invited.

Permanent Breakfast

Permanent Breakfast is a continuous social experiment that can be executed by anyone, anywhere.

The experiment was conceived in 1996 by the Austrian artist Friedemann Derschmidt and the basic idea is to bring people together to have breakfast in public spaces that are not necessarily obvious picnic spots, thereby modifying the way we think of these spaces as well as stimulating social interaction in them.

Naturally, anyone can do this without it being an art project, so to be an authentic Permanent Breakfast event, there are some rules that participants must follow: The organizer must invite at least four people under the condition that each one of them subsequently invites four other people for a new breakfast to be held somewhere else. And so on.

Permanent Breakfast recently came to Copenhagen in relation to the exhibition Instant Urbanism at the Danish Architecture Center.© dr.reinhart
